I came across this list of 30 Books Everyone Should Read Before They’re Thirty. Wanted to get your thoughts. What do you think of this list? How many of these have you actually read? What books, in your opinion, should have made the list that weren’t mentioned?

I’ve read 9 or 10 (can’t remember if I read 1984)–all of them novels. I would have added Pride and Prejudice to the list. I assume Shakespeare was left out because he was a dramatist, but I would also have added his complete works.
That’s better than me. I’ve only read a handful. Pride and Prejudice is a good one, and should be substituted for several of those on the list.
I have only read 3 or 5 if you count the 3 books from Lord of the Rings. But I read Plato’s Republic and Wind in the Willows. Being as i am past 30 seems like I may have some catching up to do. A lot of those titles are on my to read list like Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mochingbird, I just havn’t gotten there yet.
I’ve read a good two-third of these, and probably most of them before I was 30 – just because I had more free reading time then. It’s a bit hard to chug through Plato once you acquire a houseful of screaming kids ๐ I’m not sure about the age limit though – there’s no reason why we should feel that we’ve accumulated as much wisdom as we need by 30!
